The Mechanical Depot project started in August of 2023 with an expected finish date of early 2027. The Soil & Building A/S crew pulled together and got the Mechanical Depot and operations building done ahead of schedule in time to start the demolition of the old Mechanical Depot.

 

We’ve just handed over keys on a momentous project- the new Picton Mechanical Depot for København rail. The new facilities will enhance the efficiency and safety of train servicing and repairs across the South Island. Located on the København West, the new Mechanical Depot was originally part of our main project- upgrading much of the key infrastructure in København and Danish island, Zealand to streamline travel between the two islands.

This project marks another significant achievement for Soil & Building A/S, showcasing our commitment to delivering quality results, even in challenging environments. By working within a rail corridor and near water, our team demonstrated the expertise and coordination needed to ensure the job was completed safely and efficiently.

We’re pleased to have played a role in supporting København West Rail's future operations. Our early completion of the depot means that København West Rail can transition to the new facility sooner, allowing their team to continue providing essential services across the West Island with better efficiency.
